privacy policy
last updated: october 19, 2026
Muse ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Muse mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By using Muse, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. information we collect
information you give us
- Account information. Your phone number and, if you add one, an email address. We use these to sign you in and recover your account.
- Profile information. Things like your name, username, bio, photo, birth date, style tags, a location you type in (never GPS), and your privacy settings.
- Your content. Outfits and photos, captions, tags, comments, closet items and their details (including any prices you add, which only you can see), and outfits you plan.
- Your activity with others. Things like follows, likes, saves, collections, communities, and people you block. If you invite someone by text, we keep their phone number so we can connect you when they join.
- Contacts (optional). If you allow contacts access, we send the phone numbers in your contacts to our servers to check which of them already use Muse, so you can find, follow, or invite them. We only use the numbers for that check. We do not store your contacts, sell them, or use them for advertising, and we never send names or other contact details.
- Feedback, surveys, giveaways, and badges. Feedback and survey answers you send us, any email you include so we can reply, giveaway details if you win (like where to send your prize), and things you tell us for in-app badges, such as that you left a review. We can't check self-reported badge steps, so we record what you tell us.
information collected automatically
- Usage data. Information about how you use Muse, such as when you open the App, which features and layouts you use, how you interact with notifications, and whether notifications are turned on.
- Push notification token. If you allow notifications, a token that lets us send them to your device.
- AI analysis of your photos. Some features use AI to analyze photos you upload, for example to identify clothing items and create images of them for your closet.
information we do not collect
- Precise location (GPS)
- Advertising identifiers, such as the iOS IDFA or the Android Advertising ID
- Your browsing history outside the App
- Payment information
- Health or biometric data
- A stored copy of your contacts
Muse does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, so you will not see an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
2. deleting your account or data
You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings in the App. If you can't sign in, email museoutfitdiary@gmail.com with the subject "Account deletion request" and the phone number on your account, and we will delete it and confirm by email.
You can also delete individual outfits, comments, closet items, and other content, leave communities, unfollow people, edit your profile, and turn off notifications at any time.
When you delete your account, we delete your account and the information tied to it, including your profile, phone number, content, activity, and usage data. Copies in our backups are removed on a rolling basis within a limited period. We may keep limited information where the law requires it or to prevent fraud or abuse. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
3. how we use your information
- Run the App and its features, like your outfit diary, closet, outfit planning, recaps, communities, and social features
- Create and manage your account and keep it secure
- Show your content to you and to others according to your settings
- Send notifications and reminders you have allowed
- Show which of your contacts use Muse, if you allow contacts access
- Run giveaways, including using your birth date to check eligibility, picking winners, and delivering prizes
- Understand how Muse is used and improve it, including testing new versions of features
- Keep Muse safe, including moderating content and enforcing our Terms
- Respond to your feedback and requests
keeping muse safe
We use automated tools to check photos and text for objectionable content, and content that breaks our rules is removed. You can report content or accounts in the App, and we review reports and take action on violations. You can also block other users.
4. how we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.
service providers
We use trusted service providers to run Muse. They process your information only to provide their services to us:
- Hosting and storage for your account, content, and app data, on servers in the United States
- AI services for photo analysis and content moderation. We send them only the photo or text being checked, not your profile details.
- Messaging services to deliver sign-in codes by text or email, and push notifications to your device
- Website hosting for museoutfitdiary.com, including link previews
other users
- What other people can see depends on your settings. If your profile is public, your outfits and profile can be seen by other users. If it's private, your outfits are visible to your approved followers and to members of communities you've joined.
- Outfits you hide from the feed are visible only to you. The clothing items in them can still appear among your most-worn items in your monthly recap, which people who can view your recap can see. The outfit photo itself is never shown.
- Comments, likes, and your activity in communities are visible to other users.
- If you share a link to a profile, outfit, community, or invite, anyone with the link can see a short preview. What they can see in the App still follows your privacy settings.
legal reasons
We may share information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Muse, our users, or the public.
5. security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
6. your choices
- Access and update. You can view and change your profile and content in the App. To request a copy of your data, email museoutfitdiary@gmail.com.
- Visibility. You can make your profile public or private, hide individual outfits, and choose whether to share your closet.
- Permissions. Contacts, photos, and notifications are optional. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings, and some notifications in the App.
- Delete. See Section 2.
7. children's privacy
Muse is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, please contact us.
8. how long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is active, and delete it as described in Section 2 when you delete your account or content.
9. changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If you keep using Muse after an update, you accept the updated policy.
